Callens
This project was driven by a clear goal: to make Callens’ identity visible and recognizable from the E313, without compromising functionality. On a narrow lot, subject to strict regulations and surrounded by existing buildings, the focus was on achieving the most efficient and well-thought-out layout possible.

Instead of tearing everything down, we wisely built on top of what was already there. The existing warehouse remains at the center of the site. A new warehouse was added on the Nikelaan side, while on the highway side, the old office building made way for a new structure with three full stories. That new facade immediately catches the eye: a sun-shading structure with curved, perforated panels that evoke industrial boilers - precisely where Callens excels.
The building has a flexible design, featuring open-plan floors and large spans that can be easily adapted in the future. The layout is clear: freight traffic remains on one side of the site, while visitors and employees access the office via the other side. Inside, open workspaces with views of the highway, enclosed areas, and a central gathering spot—shaped like a copper kettle—create a lively and distinctive work environment.
